#AtoZChallenge: Q is for Quick

OVERDRIVE finalThere’s still five and a half months before my YA novel OVERDRIVE drops—but I couldn’t pass up the chance to spend a month talking about it.

Fast cars, cute guys, a kick-ass protagonist, and the hot Vegas sun—OVERDRIVE is a culmination of all my favorite things. Which is why for this year’s blogging challenge, I am doing the A to Z of OVERDRIVE. (I know, you're shocked!)

Not familiar with the A to Z Blogging Challenge? Get the full details here. And then buckle up because you’re in for one hell of a fun ride.

P.S. Comment on or share the posts throughout the month for a chance to WIN an advanced reader copy of OVERDRIVE!

Confession: I like to drive fast.

I'm not reckless or anything, but there's something about being behind the wheel of a car that knows how to corner, especially if it's a stick shift. Better still if it's a muscle car, because the engine "growl" is better...

My current "fast" vehicle is an older Mazda RX8, a 2009 black beauty I called Anne (my husband's truck is named Henry—clearly I'm in charge of naming...) and she still has a lot of pep to her (6 gears, top speed of 220 kmp). While I prefer muscle cars, there are a few "quick" modern cars I'd love to drive—at least once. Like these...

Pagani Huayra

Pagani Huayra

This Italian super car reaches speeds up to 231 mph and has an acceleration time of 3.2 seconds, aply nicknamed "God of the Winds." With a price tag of $1.3 million, odds are I'll never get to take this baby around the block, but no question it's quick!

McLaren F1

McLaren F1

The McLaren F1 has three seats in the front, with the driver—interestingly—seated between the two passengers. Maybe that's to protect him/her when the car rockets to a top speed of 240 mph in 3.2 seconds. Want to take it for a spin? Be prepared to shell out $5.58 million.

Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo

If I were to consider a super car—rather than a 1967 Shelby GT 500, for instance—it would probably be the Saleen. At just over half a million bucks, the Saleen is the most affordable of the super cars—and tops out at 248 mph. It's not half bad on the eyes either.

Bugatti Veyron — The Super Sport

bugatti veyron super sport 0Aesthetically, this car is a bust for me—too rounded, or something. It doesn't quite feel like a sports car to me—but looks are deceiving, because this Bugatti Veyron Super Sport holds the Guiness Book of World Record's title of being the fastest supercar in the world. It cab go from 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds, and maxes out at 253 mph. Gulp.

Any of these cars make your driving bucket list?

Excuse me while I go take my putt putt around the block. See you tomorrow for the letter R as I start winding down the #AtoZChallenge of OVERDRIVE.

The official ANNE & HENRY blog tour kicks off today, and I am so excited to be hanging out with the amazing Kathy Coe on her blog, A Glass of Wine today to share a special love letter written from (my) Henry to Anne.

The love letters between the real Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII are infamous—and steamy! As with every part of this book, I had a lot of fun moderniizing this aspect of their relationship with a letter that is very much my version of Henry. Head on over to Kathy's blog to read it!

The ANNE & HENRY blog tour continues all week, with other fun extras and a chance to WIN your own copy of the book. Check out the schedule below.

Thanks—and I hope to see you on the hop!
